Peppa Pig is a British preschool animated television series directed and produced by Astley Baker Davies in collaboration with Entertainment One, Nick Jr., Channel 5, and Hasbro's Allspark Animation. The show's story centers on Peppa, an anthropomorphic sow, and her family and friends. Originally, the show premiered on 31 May 2004 and has run for six series by 2019. The most recent series began broadcasting in February 2019 in the United Kingdom. The series is broadcast in 180 territories including the US and the United Kingdom. [1] Reruns were also broadcast on Nick Jr. since December 25, 2017. However, it was deleted on February 9, 2019.[2]

On December 31, 2019, Hasbro acquired Entertainment One for $3.8 billion giving Hasbro the rights to Peppa Pig starting with subsequent episodes produced by Allspark in its sixth season. [3]
